Working PrincipleThe dewatering process relies on a combination of vibration, gravity drainage, and filter bed formation:
- Slurry Feed: The wet material (slurry or washed aggregate) is fed onto the screen deck at the feed end.
- Rapid Drainage: Water begins to drain through the screen openings immediately upon contact.
- Linear Vibration Motion: Dual counter-rotating vibratory motors generate a linear motion that conveys solids forward toward the discharge end, while water continues to pass through the screen media.
- Filter Bed Formation: As dewatering progresses, a bed of solids accumulates on the screen surface. This bed acts as a filter medium, retaining fine particles—even those smaller than the screen apertures—which would otherwise be lost in the underflow.
- Discharge: The dewatered product exits the discharge end with significantly reduced moisture content, while the water and fine particles pass through the screen and are collected beneath.
- Critical to Performance: The discharge weir and controlled bed depth are essential for achieving low residual moisture. The screen design ensures that the material bed remains thick enough to act as an effective filter.
