OverviewPlastic crusher (also known as a plastic granulator or plastic shredder) is a size reduction machine designed to break down plastic waste into smaller, uniform particles (regrind). It typically consists of a rotating rotor equipped with rotary blades, a stationary stator blade, and a screening mesh at the bottom. The plastic is fed into the hopper, cut repeatedly by the rotating blades against the fixed blade, and passes through the mesh when the desired size is reached.
ApplicationPlastic recycling – Crushing post-consumer waste (bottles, containers, films, bags).
In-house scrap recycling – Regrinding sprues, runners, reject parts, and edge trim from injection molding or extrusion lines.
Plastic manufacturing – Reducing oversized plastic lumps, sheets, pipes, and profiles.
Waste management facilities – Volume reduction of mixed plastic waste.
Pulverizing – Producing plastic powder for compounding or further processing (with fine mesh).
FeaturesHigh-speed rotating blades, Delivers clean cuts for consistent particle size and high throughput.
Screening mesh (interchangeable), Easily change screen size (e.g., 6mm, 10mm, 20mm) to control final particle size.
Multiple blade configurations, Claw-type, flat-type, or staggered rotors – optimized for different plastics (soft, hard, film, lump).
Heavy-duty rotor, Solid machined rotor with balanced design – reduces vibration and extends bearing life.
Easy cleaning & maintenance, Hinged hopper and tiltable screen cradle allow quick access to cutting chamber.
Double-layer sound insulation, Reduces noise for safer, more comfortable working environment.
High-safety design, Hopper interlock switch stops machine when opened; electrical overload protection.
Wear-resistant tool steel blades, Durable blades (e.g., SKD-11, Cr12MoV) maintain sharpness longer – resharpenable.
Key BenefitsReduces plastic volume – Converts bulky waste into free-flowing regrind for easy handling, storage, and transport.
Enables recycling – Reground plastic can be re-melted and reprocessed into new products.
Saves raw material cost – In-house scrap recycling reduces purchase of virgin material.
Consistent output size – Uniform particles improve melting consistency in extrusion or injection molding.
Compact design – Small footprint fits easily beside injection molding machines or in recycling lines.
Main ComponentsHopper, Feeds plastic waste into cutting chamber.
Rotary blades (moving knives), Mounted on rotor – spin at high speed (300–900 rpm) to cut plastic.
Stator blades (fixed knives), Mounted on housing – stationary blades that work against rotary blades.
Screening mesh, Bottom screen that allows only properly sized particles to exit.
Cutting chamber, Enclosure where cutting action takes place
Motor & drive system, Provides power to rotate the rotor (typically 5–100 HP).
Discharge chute / blower, Discharges regrind into bin, bag, or conveying system.
