IntroductionPE Jaw Crusher is a primary crushing equipment widely used in mining, quarrying, construction, and aggregate industries. It operates on the compression principle: a fixed jaw plate and a movable jaw plate form a V-shaped crushing chamber. The movable jaw plate moves periodically toward the fixed jaw plate, crushing materials between them. When the movable jaw retreats, crushed materials descend by gravity and are discharged from the bottom opening.

Applications
- Mining,Hard ores: gold, copper, iron ore, lead-zinc, nickel, bauxite
- Quarrying & Aggregates,Granite, basalt, limestone, diabase, river pebbles, sandstone
- Construction,Crushing concrete rubble, asphalt, demolition waste (recycling)
- Metallurgy,Reducing slag, ferrous and non-ferrous metal ores
- Chemical & Industrial,Crushing gypsum, phosphate rock, barite, fluorite
- Road & Bridge construction,Producing base course material and railway ballast
Features & Advantages
- Simple and robust structure, Easy to operate and maintain; high reliability with few moving parts.
- High crushing ratio,Typically 4:1 to 6:1; reduces large rocks (up to 1,000+ mm) to 100–300 mm in one stage.
- Deep crushing cavity,Optimized nip angle improves capacity and reduces liner wear
- Adjustable discharge opening,Wedge or gasket system allows easy adjustment of output size (10–300 mm depending on model).
- Heavy-duty eccentric shaft,Large-diameter forged shaft with high-strength bearings handles tough materials.
- High-quality jaw plates,Made of high manganese steel (Mn13Cr2, Mn18Cr2, Mn22Cr2) with reversible design for longer life.
- Flywheel design,Smooths out power fluctuations; reduces peak power demand.
- Safe operation,Hydraulic or mechanical adjustment; optional tramp iron protection (hydraulic models).
- Energy efficient,Optimized design reduces power consumption per ton of crushed material
- Wide feed opening range,From small laboratory models (100×60 mm) to large production units (1,200×1,500 mm and above).
Key Benefits
- Excellent for primary crushing–Handles the toughest, largest feed materials.
- High uptime–Simple design means fewer breakdowns; easy parts replacement.
- Low operating cost–Long-lasting manganese jaw plates and low energy consumption.
- Versatile–Works with hard, abrasive, and sticky materials.
- Proven technology–Decades of reliable service in harsh environments worldwide.
Main Components
- Fixed jaw plate:Stationary crushing surface mounted on frame.
- Movable jaw plate:Moving crushing surface attached to movable jaw assembly.
- Eccentric shaft:Converts rotational motion to reciprocating motion of movable jaw.
- Flywheel:Stores energy and smooths operation.
- Toggle plate:Safety device that breaks if uncrushable material enters chamber.
- Toggle seat / block:Supports toggle plate and allows discharge adjustment.
- Adjustment mechanism:Wedge or hydraulic system to change closed side setting (CSS).
- Frame:Heavy-duty cast steel or welded structure supporting all components.
Important Note
- Not for fine crushing–PE jaw crusher produces coarse output (typically 50–200 mm). For finer product, use a secondary cone or impact crusher.
- Not for wet/sticky materials–Can cause jamming. Use a grizzly feeder to remove fines before crushing, or consider a different crusher type.
- Tramp metal damages jaw plates–Always use a magnetic separator or metal detector for recycling applications.
