IntroductionPF Impact Crusher is a secondary or tertiary crushing machine that uses high-speed impact energy to crush materials. It features a heavy-duty rotor with blow bars (hammers) that strike incoming material, throwing it against impact plates (aprons) mounted on the crusher frame. This repeated impact breaks the material along its natural fracture lines, producing a cubical product with excellent shape. The discharge size is controlled by adjusting the gap between the impact plates and the rotor, or by changing rotor speed.
PF impact crushers are widely used for medium-hard, low-abrasion materials and are known for their high reduction ratio, simple structure, and energy efficiency.
Applications
- Aggregate production:Limestone, dolomite, gypsum, sandstone, marble, and other medium-hard stones.
- Construction & Road building:Producing high-quality cubical aggregates for concrete, asphalt, and road base.
- Recycling:Crushing concrete rubble, asphalt pavements, construction demolition waste.
- Mining:Processing soft to medium-hard ores (coal, phosphate, bauxite, salt, potash).
Features & Advantages
- High-speed rotor with heavy blow bar:Delivers powerful impact energy for high crushing ratio (up to 15:1) and high throughput.
- Cubical product shape:Produces well-shaped aggregates with minimal flaky or elongated particles–ideal for concrete and asphalt.
- Adjustable impact plates (aprons):Easily adjusts discharge size by changing gap between aprons and rotor; no need to stop the machine for setting changes.
- Large feed opening:Accepts feed sizes up to 500–800 mm (depending on model)
- Heavy-duty construction:Robust rotor, wear-resistant blow bars, and impact plates ensure long service life in demanding conditions.
- Easy maintenance:Hinged housing and hydraulic opening allow quick access to rotor and blow bars for inspection and replacement.
- Hydraulic or mechanical adjustment:Provides precise control over output size and compensates for blow bar wear.
- Low energy consumption:High efficiency compared to compression crushers for medium-hard materials; reduces power cost per ton.
Key Benefits
- Superior product shape-Creates cubical aggregates that meet strict construction standards.
- High reduction ratio-Can reduce large feed to finished product in one crushing stage.
- Low operating cost-Wear parts (blow bars) are cost-effective and easy to replace.
- Versatile-Handles a wide range of materials, from soft limestone to medium-hard granite (low abrasion).
- Energy efficient-Consumes less power per ton than jaw or cone crushers for comparable materials.
Main Components
- Rotor:Rotates at high speed; carries the blow bars.
- Blow bars (hammers):Attached to rotor; strike and break material on impact.
- Impact plates (aprons):Fixed or adjustable plates against which material is thrown for secondary impact.
- Frame / Housing:Heavy-duty welded steel structure supporting all components.
- Discharge opening adjustment:Hydraulic or mechanical system to move aprons closer or farther from rotor.
- Feeding chute:Directs material into the rotor strike zone.
- Curtain / apron liners:Additional wear liners to protect housing from material scouring.
- Electric motor & drive:Provides power to the rotor (typically 30–400+ kW).
Important Notes
- Not for hard/abrasive rock-Granite, basalt, and quartz cause rapid blow bar wear; cone crushers are preferred.
- Not for sticky/wet materials-Can cause plugging; use pre-screening to remove fines if needed.
- Tramp metal damages blow bars-Always use magnetic separator for recycling applications.
- Rotor balance is critical-Unbalanced blow bars cause vibration and bearing damage.
